 In this course you will   gain knowledge in theory and practice by understanding how to create shapes by using specific sectioning patterns, techniques, and kinetics.

Hair cutting requires precision and coordination, which can only be achieved through consistently practicing the right way. Master your scissor - clipper work and strengthen the techniques by grasping the how and why with our in depth training. Become a Hair Architect by learning  the art and science of designing hairstyles that enhances a person's overall look and appeal. This 40-50 hour intensive course is made for individuals to gain confidence and control in their hair cutting profession. Our unique “SIMONS SAYS” in-depth hands-on training allows students to thoroughly learn how to build like an architect so they can appreciate not just “how” to cut hair but also the ‘why’.          DAY ONE   LONG HAIRCUT WITH SQUARE LAYERS (technique 1+2)

        Theory with Presentation

        • Anatomy and head shape.
        • Suitability and consultation
        • Shape (square, triangle, round)
        • The technique (line, graduation, layers)
        • Kinetics (elevation, head position, body position, cutting angle, tension, over direction )
        • Scissor handling 
        • Sectioning with purpose
        • Understanding head diagrams

        Practical Scissor Foundation: Line + Square Layers
        Building a SQUARE shape HORIZONTALLY and VERTICALLY by taking precise sections on a mannequin.

        • Mapping and subsections 
        • Cutting square LAYERS starting from the back, sides, top
        • Lunch break
        • Continue cutting hair on a mannequin

        Blowdrying and Styling 

        • Blow drying with aim and purpose with a diffuser
        • Using products to keep hair in place
        • Finishing with hairspray


        DAY TWO:MID LENGTH HAIRCUT WITH ROUND GRADUATION  (technique 3)

        Evaluation Game

        • Students will have to work together in a timely manner to put all of the head diagrams together. 
        • Ex. Shapes, technique, kinetics, sections, over direction. 

        Practical Scissor Foundation: Round Graduation
        Building a ROUND shape HORIZONTALLY and a TRIANGULAR shape vertically on the sides. Build  a TRIANGLE  shape vertically and SQUARE SHAPE horizontally on the top.

          DAY THREE:CREATIVE HAIRCUT with LAYERS + GRADUATION  (technique 1-3)

          1. Theory on Blowdrying, Styling, and Fading (45 mins)
          • Blowdrying Techniques
          • StylingTechniques
          • Using a vent and less Brush Techniques (GFR)
          • Kinetics
          •  

          Practical Scissor Foundation:Creative Haircut

          • Cutting Round Graduation starting from the sides, back, top
          • Lunch break
          • Continue cutting hair on a mannequin


          Building 3 shapes in one creative haircut that will unlock your creative thinking. 






          DAY FOUR:LOOK AND LEARN + CREATIVE HAIRCUT STYLING
